The Wall of Jericho fell

 

"If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday" - Isaiah 58:10

 

When we read and see many warning about our health needs on social media and in books, we try to implement those things. Because we think it will be very beneficial for our physical health. Likewise, the Lord has given us some warning verses and promises in the scriptures. If we obey these words of warning we can inherit this blessing. We often look for promises in the Bible and read them. We want promises. But we leave the warning verses. We do not obey. If the promises are to be fulfilled, the word of God must be obeyed. It is very important.

 

Many times we sing promising songs. When we hear, "Praise, the Lord will bless you," we also praise well. That's good! But praise alone does not bring us blessings. If we look at the scriptures, Joshua leads the people to fight against the city of Jericho. Then the Lord makes a promise to Joshua. And the Lord said unto Joshua, Behold, I have delivered Jericho, and its king, and its men of war, into thy hand. But if we want to inherit this promise, we can see in the scriptures that the Lord says some conditions. What the conditions are, is to go around Jericho in six days. On the seventh day or when going around seven times, you should pray when you hear the sound of the trumpet. This is the condition ordained by the Lord. They did not pray all day. On that day that the Lord had said, they prayed at that moment.

 

If we observe in this, they obeyed the word of the Lord and praised. True, Jericho wall fell not only because of praise but because of obeying the word of the Lord. Inheriting the promises is not difficult if we keep this in mind and obey the word of the Lord. The Lord will surely fulfil His promises to us. So let us obey the Lord's words and inherit the promises.
