Burden
"…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us…" - Hebrews 12:1
In a village an old woman was walking with a tuft on her head. Then a bullock cart came that way. Immediately she got into it and sat. But she did not put down the tuft on her head. The bullock driver, who was watching this, smiled and told mother, kindly put down the tuft, but she did not listen. She continued her journey with the burden on her head.
A childless mother, Hanna would not eat and was weeping because of Peninna's tormenting words. Thus her days passed with tears and burden. She got a chance to go to the church. She poured out her heart in the presence of God. She dropped all the burden. Then she was no longer sad. Yes, Hanna cast her burden onto the feet of Lord. She waited patiently depending on God. God gave birth to the prophet Samuel. Then she got sons and daughters and praised God.
Are we who are reading this carrying the burdens in our lives or are we laying them down at the Lord's feet? Yes, Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden upon the Lord, and he will sustain you; the righteous will never be shaken." Yes, there can be countless problems in our life like debt problems, sicknesses, poverty and more. But never give up. There is someone drawing you in the palms of your hands. He is the Lord Jesus Christ. So cast all your worries on Him. Cast your burdens upon Him. Don't be sad after that. He is Jehovah and will take care of everything.
