God's love

 

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?..." - Romans 8:36

 

David Livingston is a man who never moves away from God's love no matter what he loses. Throughout his heart was a burden that the African people should know the love of Jesus. He started ministry in Africa. He faced many hardships and losses there. Immediately the missionary society that sent him said, "Livingston come here. You can do the ministry here." But he did not give up the ministry. A lion bit his hand while he was on his way to ministry. But he continued to serve. Livingston was afflicted with several types of fever. Without proper nutritious food the body becomes very weak. Immediately the missionary society said, you have lost your wife and children, you have lost your physical strength, you don't want to stay there anymore, please come. But Livingston firmly refused to proclaim God's love to the African people until his life was gone. Nothing could separate him from God's love.

 

We know about Paul in the Bible. For his love for Jesus, he was beaten many times, put in many prisons, and often put to death. He was also beaten, stoned, and shipwrecked by the Jews. He went through grief and awakening, hungry and thirsty. The love of Jesus met Paul, who was working against the Christian people, made him a follower of Jesus and a good servant.

 

Beloved, Jesus shed his blood on us who were enslaved by the enemy by sin in this world and adopted us as his own children. Many times, we retreat from that love. Jesus' love never changes. He still loves us as we are. So, let's act like God, making sure that no matter what the circumstances, nothing will separate us from God's love. Let us share his love with others. Amen!
